China's largest trail race through Winter Olympic venues in the Hebei mountains
China's largest trail running race by participation takes over the 2022 Winter Olympic venues in Chongli for its flagship 170km event. The Chongli 168 loops through rugged mountain terrain in the Yanshan-Yinshan mountain ranges, with elevations ranging from 813 to 2,174 meters. Aid stations are housed in premier ski resorts — Wanlong, Thaiwoo, and Genting Snow Park — converted into runner support bases for the summer race. Runners navigate over 8,200 meters of ascent across steep mountain trails, requiring mandatory night running, technical navigation, and full mandatory gear compliance. This event draws elite runners from around the world competing for ITRA and UTMB Index points alongside thousands of recreational runners.
