A looped Western States qualifier through the prehistoric hills of North Texas
The 100 Mile sends runners through nine full laps of the 10.5-mile main loop followed by a 5-mile final loop at Dinosaur Valley State Park, returning to the start/finish after each lap for crew access and resupply. The course winds through varied North Texas Hill Country terrain—open double-track fields, wooded singletrack, and a striking mix of packed dirt, embedded limestone rocks, slickrock, and occasional roots. Hilltop overlooks reward the climb with views stretching for miles across cedar- and oak-covered hills. Finishing in under 35 hours earns a Western States Endurance Run qualifier; 100K splits are also recorded, with sub-22-hour 100K finishes counting as a separate WS qualifier. Race director Libby Jones and The Active Joe are known for creating an inclusive, community-focused event.

November weather in Texas can change quickly—temperatures have ranged from near-freezing nights to 69°F highs. Prepare for potential rain, which turns slickrock sections hazardous.
