What Makes It Great

A 171-kilometer loop through the rugged Basque Country, starting and finishing in Beasain and traversing two natural parks (Aralar and Aizkorri-Aratz) and more than 30 towns. The course delivers 10,500 meters of climbing — comparable to Hardrock 100 — on brutally direct ascents and descents with almost no switchbacks. Runners navigate a mix of singletrack, forest tracks, and connecting roads through steep limestone terrain, with the course spanning two nights before the 48-hour cutoff. Completion earns Hardrock 100 qualifying points.
