What Makes It Great

The flagship 100km course traces a dramatic route eastward from the ancient Dajingmen pass — the 'First Gate of the Great Wall' — through Ming Dynasty Great Wall ruins spanning 37 beacon towers, modern abandoned military tunnels (combat readiness infrastructure), and the storied Grassland Silk Road commercial corridor. The route winds through Sandao Border, Ren'tou Mountain, the 712 Relay Station, Qingbian Pass, and Dongtai Ping Mountain before arriving at the Qinghe Film and Television Base. From the high points, runners enjoy panoramic views over Zhangjiakou city and intimate views of the 600-year-old stone wall.
