SkyRun's introduction: a self-navigated Witteberg loop that starts in daylight and finishes in the dark
An introduction to the SkyRun experience that is anything but easy. Starting at 14:00 from Wartrail Country Club, this loop covers the upper Witteberg section — climbing to Edgehill, pushing out to The Turn, summiting Halstone Peak, and returning to Wartrail. An afternoon start means runners finish mostly in darkness, and the course is entirely self-supported with no crew access or drop bags. Self-navigation by GPS with no course markings applies as it does for all SkyRun distances.
