80km through Madeira's central massif, joining the Legend's mountain spine from São Vicente to Machico
Starting at dawn from the coastal village of São Vicente on Madeira's north coast, the MIUT Advanced covers 80 kilometres and nearly 4,800 metres of elevation gain through the island's rugged central massif. The route climbs into the heart of the UNESCO Laurissilva forest before joining the MIUT Legend course and ascending to the twin summits of Pico Ruivo and Pico do Areeiro. From the high plateau, a long flowing descent carries runners through levada trails and coastal cliff paths to the shared finish at Fórum Machico.
