MIUT Starter

Beginning at sea level in the north-coast village of Porto da Cruz, the MIUT Starter offers 17 kilometres of spectacular coastal trail running with just 510 metres of elevation gain. The route traces the Atlantic shoreline past Praia da Maiata, climbs gently to Larano, then follows the iconic Vereda do Larano — a path carved dramatically into seaside cliffs — to Boca do Risco. A final ascent to Pico do Facho delivers panoramic ocean views before the descent to the shared finish line at Fórum Machico. No prior experience required and no mandatory gear rules.
