A technical 68K loop through UNESCO-protected Pirin National Park — unmarked and demanding
The Pirin Ultra 68K is a demanding high-mountain loop through the heart of Pirin National Park, covering 68 kilometers with over 4,400 meters of climbing on technical singletrack and alpine terrain. Like all Pirin Ultra distances, the course carries no marking — runners must navigate the entire route by GPS through pristine wilderness between Bansko and the highest reaches of the mountain. Four aid stations provide support across the loop, but long remote stretches between them demand strong mountain endurance and self-sufficiency.
