Atlantic coast to Race Village — point-to-point across Cape Town's finest mountain trails
The Peninsula Traverse starts at the Atlantic coast at Llandudno and traverses two distinct mountain systems en route to the Gardens Rugby Club Race Village. After a sharp opening ascent of Suther Peak within the first 10km, the route threads through Manganese Mines and Vlakkenberg before dropping to the Alphen Trail Aid Station — a celebration zone where supporters cheer runners through — then rises through Cecilia and Newlands Forest to the UCT campus and the final climb to King's Blockhouse. As the closing race of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors Short Series, PT55 delivers world-class competition across 56.7km of technical Cape Peninsula singletrack.
