Based on historical averages for September 12

Early September in Northern Minnesota brings highly variable conditions. The average high is 65°F (18°C) and average low is 47°F (8°C), but temperatures can swing from the mid-80s down to the mid-30s within a single race weekend. Record extremes are 81°F and 37°F. Rain is common. The 100-mile race starts Friday morning and continues through the night into Saturday evening, so runners experience the full spectrum — warm afternoon sun, a cold overnight, and potentially rain at any point. A rain jacket or poncho is strongly recommended. Cell coverage is intermittent along most of the course.
