A night vertical kilometer up the fearsome Asomadero wall
A pure speed-climbing challenge conducted at night, ascending the legendary Asomadero wall — 760 metres of elevation gain over just 3.5 kilometres from Plaza Viera y Clavijo in Los Realejos. Runners race uphill in darkness with head torches, rewarded at the summit with dramatic views over the Orotava Valley. The VK starts on Thursday evening, making it an ideal warm-up for runners also competing in the main Saturday events. A category for athletes with disabilities (Joëlettes) also participates.
