The TMBT 30km starts alongside the longer categories at Kg. Lingkubang, following the course through paddy fields, river crossings, and plantations to the Lobong Lobong ridgeline. From there it takes its own route via Kiau Bersatu, a steep descent to the Kadamaian River, and a double ascent via the infamous Bukit Dallas to finish at the Pekan Nabalu viewpoint with sweeping views of Mount Kinabalu. A UTMB 50km series qualifier and the ideal entry point for runners new to the TMBT experience. Capped at 500 runners.

No camping provided at start or finish. The 109km/37km NC finish is at Mount Kinabalu Heritage Resort and Spa (Perkasa Hotel) in Kundasang, which has on-site accommodation. Additional accommodation options within 5km of the finish. Race pack collection held at Ming Garden Hotel, Kota Kinabalu.
