A midnight loop through Kinabalu's highlands — cool, dark, and the highest finish rate in the field
The TMBT 37km Night Challenge starts at midnight from the Perkasa Hotel in Kundasang — the halfway and finish point of the 109km — and loops through the highland terrain via W7, W10, and W11 before returning to the start. Beginning in the cool of the Sabah night, most runners finish at dawn or in the early morning hours, often catching sunrise on the trail. This category boasts the highest finish rate of any competitive TMBT distance, largely due to the cooler nighttime temperatures eliminating the tropical heat challenge of the longer courses. A UTMB 50km series qualifier.
