A 177km GR 26 odyssey through the karst heartland of central Portugal
The flagship distance of the event covers 177.5 km and 6,193m of climbing across six municipalities in central Portugal's Terras de Sicó region, tracing the complete GR 26 long-distance trail and eight cultural heritage routes through karst valleys, ancient olive groves, and limestone ridges. Starting and finishing in Condeixa a Nova — gateway to the Roman ruins of Conímbriga — runners pass through the iconic Buracas do Casmilo valley, the Serra do Sicó ridge, and a chain of rural towns with two life bases and 12 aid stations. The 40.5-hour window means virtually all athletes experience multiple nights on course, and finishing qualifies runners for the Western States Endurance Run.
