A 104 km tropical rainforest odyssey — WSER qualifier through Gombak's wild ridgelines
The flagship event of Trail des Gombak, locally known as GOMBAK100, sends runners 104 km through the Gombak and Ulu Yam forest reserves north of Kuala Lumpur. Starting at 2 am from Stadium Majlis Perbandaran Selayang, the out-and-back route climbs 5,695 metres through dense tropical rainforest on technical singletrack, crossing ridge after ridge of the Titiwangsa range foothills. Runners navigate predawn darkness and humidity before sunrise, then face the full intensity of the Malaysian day before a final push home through the following night. As a WSER 2026 Qualifying Race and Asia Trail Master Season 11 Championship event, it draws an international field to one of the most celebrated trail races in Malaysia.
