A midnight crossing of Gran Canaria from beach to dunes — north to south, coast to coast
The Transgrancanaria Classic is a legendary point-to-point journey traversing Gran Canaria from Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas all the way to the dunes of Maspalomas — 126 kilometers and nearly 7,000 meters of climbing through the island's mountainous heart. Starting at midnight on Friday, runners navigate historic mountain villages like Teror, Artenara, and Tejeda, climbing to over 1,600 meters before descending through the volcanic south. The race captures the full character of Gran Canaria as a 'miniature continent,' moving through lush pine forests, rugged volcanic ridges, and dry southern slopes in a single continuous effort. As a founding member of the World Trail Majors, the Classic is one of Europe's most prestigious and iconic trail ultramarathons.
