A fast, technical descent from the mountains to the coast in 46km
The Transgrancanaria Marathon is a fast, technical 46-kilometer course from the mountain village of Tejeda down to the coast at Maspalomas. After an initial climb to the island's high ridgeline at El Garañón, runners plunge through spectacular technical trails including the iconic La Plata descent. With nearly 2,800 meters of total descent and a breathtaking final approach to the ocean, the Marathon is regularly sold out and is one of Gran Canaria's most coveted race entries. It also serves as the flagship event for the World Trail Majors Short Series.
