What Makes It Great

TransLantau 100 traverses 104 kilometers of rugged Lantau Island terrain, including the second-highest peak in Hong Kong — Fung Wong Shan (Lantau Peak) at 934 meters. A night start from Mui Wo takes runners west across the island through two country parks, past the iconic Tai O fishing village and Po Lin Monastery near the Tian Tan Buddha, before looping back through Discovery Bay to the finish. The course accumulates 4,500 meters of elevation gain across steep coastal ridges, remote valleys, and technical trail surfaces in an environment that blends genuine wilderness with proximity to a major metropolis.
