60K from the Heart of Marão to Amarante including the legendary Vertical KM
The UTM 60K shares the final sectors of the Endurance course, starting from Ansiães — the 'Heart of Marão' — and immediately tackling the brutal Alto das Veias climb and the Marão Vertical KM to the 1,416m summit at Senhora da Serra. From there it follows the same stunning descent through Mafómedes' chestnut forests, the megalithic Aboboreira plateau, and the Goiva waterfalls before finishing in Amarante. Billed as one of the most demanding 60K races in Portugal, the combination of high elevation gain and tough mountain terrain makes this a serious challenge.
