What Makes It Great

Vietnam's original miler, returning for 2026 after a year's absence. The VMM 100 Miles covers 161km with 8,800m of elevation gain in a sweeping route through the full range of Sapa's mountain terrain. Starting at dawn on Friday in Sapa town, the course descends into the Suoi Ho valley past Black Hmong communities, climbs to a high mountain loop above 2,000m, and returns to Sapa before scaling Ham Rong Mountain. The Muong Hoa valley ridgelines — with Fansipan towering at 3,143m — lead into remote valleys past the Red Dao villages of Ban Moi and Giang Ta Chai. Multiple river crossings, the iconic Cow Mountain ridgeline, bamboo forests, and two passes over Mount Silverstone culminate at the mountaintop Topas Ecolodge after up to 49 hours on course. A 100M UTMB Index, ITRA 6-point qualifier, and Western States 2027 Qualifying Race.
