Fast singletrack and sweeping Pikes Peak views in Colorado's fall color showcase
Other trail races within 37 miles
The Above the Clouds Ultra 50K winds through the forested highlands above Woodland Park, one of Colorado's highest incorporated cities at 8,465 feet. Runners climb out of town via Lovell Gulch, ascend to Rampart Range Road for sweeping panoramic views of Pikes Peak, then circuit the fast singletrack surrounding Rampart Reservoir before linking a remote National Forest connector trail on the way back to the finish. The October race date puts runners squarely in peak fall color — brilliant aspens and scrub oak line the canyon and reservoir sections. The course is described as fast and flowing, making it a strong choice for runners chasing a first 50K or a solid fall fitness test.
