The Autumn 100 is a 100-mile continuous trail race based in the twinned villages of Goring & Streatley on the River Thames. The course is shaped like a cross — runners complete four separate 25-mile out-and-back spurs along sections of the Ridgeway and Thames Path National Trails, returning to race HQ at Goring between each leg. Known as the fastest trail 100 in the UK, the route is flat and highly runnable during dry conditions, with just 5,000 ft of elevation gain across the full distance. The October date means runners face up to 13 hours of darkness and the possibility of wind, rain, and cool temperatures — classic British autumn. Sixteen fully-stocked aid stations, drop bag access at Goring at miles 25, 50, and 75, and comprehensive medical support provide strong logistical backing throughout the race.
