Croom Zoom 50K

A New Year's trail ultra in the Croom tract of Florida's Withlacoochee State Forest. Runners start with a short starter loop, then repeat a well-marked 10-mile loop through oak hammocks under a mostly shaded canopy. The terrain is classic Florida: flat to gently rolling, sandy in places, and fast. Every loop passes the start/finish area, so runners can use their drop bags along the way. Aid stations sit about every 5 miles.
