A flat point-to-point 100 across Northeast Texas on the NETT rail-trail
The inaugural Hard Times 100 runs the Northeast Texas Trail (NETT), a converted rail corridor, from New Boston west to Paris, Texas. The surface mixes dirt, gravel and paved trail with some road and sidewalk, and the whole route climbs only about 2,000 ft. After passing Paris, the 100-miler adds an out-and-back east toward Roxton before finishing at the Love Civic Center. A January start means a long, cold night, with eleven full aid stations and water stations in between. Runners take a shuttle from Paris to the New Boston start.
