A full traverse of Slovakia's Javorníky Mountains from Čadca to Lysá pod Makytou
Javornícka stovka — Slovak for 'Javorníky Hundred' — is a point-to-point mountain ultramarathon tracing the full length of the Javorníky mountain range in northwestern Slovakia. Starting in the town of Čadca and finishing 104.69 km later in Lysá pod Makytou, the route threads through remote highland villages, forested ridgelines, and open mountain terrain, accumulating 4,030 meters of gain along the way. Navigation follows standard Slovak tourist trail markings supplemented by race signage, and the course passes through the CHKO Kysuce Protected Landscape Area — home to brown bears. The 27-hour time limit requires runners to push well into the night, with the final 25 km tackled in darkness before a Sunday morning finish. Completing the full course within 24 hours earns a WSER lottery ticket, adding a competitive draw for those chasing Western States qualification.
