A legendary island crossing from sea to sea, starting at midnight through Madeira's wildest mountains
The flagship crossing of Madeira Island, the MIUT Legend traces a relentless point-to-point route from the sea cliffs of Porto Moniz on the north coast to the finish line at Fórum Machico on the east. Starting at midnight, runners traverse 110 kilometres through some of Europe's most dramatic terrain: dense UNESCO-listed Laurissilva forest, steep volcanic ridges, and the island's highest peak, Pico Ruivo (1,862m). After crossing the central massif via Pico do Areeiro, the final stage drops through levada trails carved into coastal cliffs, delivering spectacular Atlantic views before the finish.
