The shortest trail at Pirin Ultra: a 17K foothill loop from Bansko, open from age 14
Route E is a 17 km loop from the Central Square in Bansko through the forested foothills of the Pirin. It has one aid station at The Bridge, near halfway, and about 700 m of climbing and descent, with a 6-hour cutoff. It is the only Pirin Ultra trail distance open to runners from age 14 (minors need a parent's consent), and the only one that does not require mountain insurance. A short list of mandatory gear still applies, and trail shoes with proper lugs are checked.
