Canada's premier ultra-trail through Charlevoix's remote boreal wilderness
The UTHC 125 is Canada's most demanding ultra-trail — a 124.3 km linear journey through the remote boreal wilderness of Charlevoix. Starting at Zec des Martres and finishing at Mont Grand-Fonds ski resort in La Malbaie, runners summit four major peaks—Mont Lac-à-l'Empêche, Mont Morios, Mont Noyée, and Montagne Noire—while navigating predominantly technical singletrack laced with roots and rocks. The course blends steep technical climbs with rolling forested sections and demands both endurance and precision throughout the night. Set in the UNESCO Charlevoix Biosphere Reserve, shaped by an ancient meteorite impact, it draws athletes from more than 30 countries. Since the race's founding in 2016, roughly half of all starters have crossed the finish line.
