The Tour de la Gela is a demanding 42 km loop from Piau-Engaly with aerial passages, steep technical climbs, and a cross-border excursion into Spain. After climbing to Port Vieux and the Pic de l'Aiguillette, runners descend to the Bielsa Nord tunnel, then ascend Port de Bielsa and enter the Spanish Cirque de Pinarra before returning through Port Vieux to the highest point of the race: the Pic de Port Vieux (2,723 m), overlooking the majestic lac de Barroude. A descent along the Barroude Wall and the Hourquette de Chermentas returns runners to Piau-Engaly.
