The Tour des Lacs is an 80 km loop from Vielle-Aure that includes the summit of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre (2,877 m) and a deep dive into the Néouvielle lake country. Runners climb Col du Portet, traverse the Néouvielle reserve past chains of alpine lakes, scale the famous Serpolet wall to La Mongie, then summit the Pic du Midi via the Sencours ridge before returning through the Hourquette Nère. The race requires qualifying effort points and runs partly through the night, finishing Sunday morning.
