A vert-heavy out-and-back up the Rampart Range
Other trail races within 42 miles
The 50KM follows the same opening miles as the 55-miler, grinding up Rampart Range Road to a high point near 8,700 feet before turning around for the full descent back to Buffalo Lodge. With over 4,400 feet of climbing on a straightforward out-and-back, it's one of the more demanding 50Ks on Colorado's Front Range.
