What Makes It Great

The RMB UTD Miler is a 162km point-to-point epic through the Southern Drakensberg and across the border into Lesotho. Starting at Silverstreams Trading Store near Bushman's Nek, the route follows the full length of the Giant's Cup Trail before ascending Sani Pass and reaching Thabana Ntlenyana — the highest peak in Southern Africa. Runners continue across Lesotho's wild high country to Black Mountain Pass, Sani Stone Lodge, and Hodgson's Peak, before descending through the 12 Apostles Trailhead and along Khanti Ridge to the finish at Premier Resort Sani Pass. A valid passport is required to cross into Lesotho. Each finisher receives a handmade cowbell forged by a blacksmith in Mokhotlong. Elite runners are expected from 10:00 Saturday; the final cutoff is 10:00 Sunday.
