Chase the Drakensberg sunset in this uniquely timed Friday evening trail run
The Sundowner Run (SDR) is a uniquely timed 34km trail run that begins at 13:00 on Friday and runs into the Drakensberg dusk and dark. Starting at Castleburn Farm, the route operates in an altitude window between 1,600m and 1,950m, climbing to Crane Tarn, descending to Mzimkulwana Hut, traversing the face of Siphongweni, and finishing at the race village. SDR runners share the course with UTD Miler and UTD100 runners in the final stages, creating a unique atmosphere of seeing the ultra-distance field on course. A great introduction to night running in mountain terrain.
