The Turquoise Lake 20K circles one of Colorado's most scenic high-altitude lakes in a clockwise loop starting and finishing at Matchless Boat Ramp. Runners cover 6.5 miles of rolling paved road before transitioning to 5.5 miles of lakeside singletrack trail, with the entire course sitting at nearly 10,000 feet elevation. A longtime community event organized by the Lake County Sports Hall of Fame, the race draws competitive trail runners alongside first-time high-altitude racers, with proceeds benefiting Leadville youth athletics programs including Children's Fishing Day and the Nordic team.
