A midnight run through Hungary's wild northern forests near Budapest
The Salomon Ultra-Trail Hungary 111 is the flagship event of Hungary's premier trail running weekend, covering 111 kilometers through the Pilis and Visegrád mountain ranges on dense forest trails. Starting at midnight from the historic Danube riverfront town of Szentendre, runners navigate nine aid stations and 4,374 meters of cumulative elevation gain before returning to the finish line as the sun comes up over the Danube. The course traverses rolling forested ridgelines and river valleys characteristic of Hungary's northern highlands, passing through small villages and ancient landscapes within an hour of Budapest.
