What Makes It Great

The 75 km loop from Radda in Chianti takes runners through the rolling hills of Sienese Chianti on fast, runnable vineyard terrain for the first 40 km before climbing to Monte San Michele — the race's crux — at the 60 km mark. A descent through Volpaia and a final plunge into the valley complete the loop. The combination of scenic vineyard singletrack and a punishing late-race mountain push makes this a standout mid-distance ultra.

Weather

Late March in Tuscany brings mild days with occasional rain. Race-day temperatures typically range 8–16°C with a cool morning start at 7 AM. Spring showers can make terrain slick, and the Monte San Michele section may be cold or foggy. No altitude concerns — the course stays well below 1,000 m.

Rain/Wet Conditions

Spring rain is common in March and can make the course muddy, especially on the mountain climb section.
