The 100 Mile course loops from the historic town of Creede through the remote San Juan high country, following the Continental Divide Trail and Colorado Trail across tundra, rocky drainages, and alpine meadows. With an average elevation of 11,359 feet and a high point of 13,261 feet, the course is one of the highest average elevation 100-milers in North America. Ten aid stations are spread across the loop; pacers are permitted from Lost Trail AS (~mile 56) to the finish. The race director's old-school philosophy means approximate mileage, minimal hand-holding, and an emphasis on course knowledge and self-sufficiency.
