The Telluride Mountain Run 65 Mile is a brand-new ultra-distance event debuting in 2026, offering a comprehensive tour of the high terrain surrounding Telluride. The first half mirrors the 40-mile course, including the infamous 'Mile and a Half of Sky' above 13,000 feet and the 13,500-foot summit of Telluride Peak. The second half explores entirely new territory, traversing Black Bear Pass, Brooklyn Pass, Ophir Pass, and Oscar's Pass before a final descent through Wasatch Basin and Bear Creek. Runners cross above 13,000 feet three times and above 12,000 feet seven additional times, spending the vast majority of this 32-hour event well above 10,000 feet. A mandatory pre-race safety meeting is held at 5pm on Friday, August 21.
