Box Canyon Trail Races 30K

A rugged 30-kilometer loop through the high alpine terrain above Telluride, Colorado. Starting at the gondola plaza in downtown Telluride, runners head east toward iconic Bridal Veil Falls and past the historic Smuggler-Union Hydroelectric Plant before ascending into upper Bridal Veil Basin. The course reaches its high point at Wasatch Junction at 13,000 feet, where vast alpine meadows open up with sweeping San Juan Mountain views. Runners then descend dreamy singletrack into Bear Creek before making a final push up the Wasatch Connector trail to the summit of Telluride Ski Resort. The final miles descend through the ski resort back into town. With roughly 5,800 feet of vertical gain and sustained time above 12,000 feet, this race demands respect for high alpine conditions.
