Starting at Cispus Learning Center, this out-and-back ascends through verdant forest past charming waterfalls before making a breathtaking climb to the historic fire lookout atop Burley Mountain. From the summit, runners are rewarded with a sweeping 360-degree panorama spanning the Dark Divide, Goat Rocks Wilderness, and Mount Rainier National Park. With over 4,300 feet of climbing in 14 miles and a generous 9-hour cutoff, this is an accessible entry point to mountain running with serious scenery.

Bunkhouse beds at Cispus Learning Center available for $43 via Ultrasignup at registration. Car, tent, and RV camping also available nearby. Camping opens Thursday at noon for 100-mile runners, Saturday for 50K and Fun Run participants.
