A Western States and UTMB qualifier through Indiana's lake country
The Indiana Trail 100 Mile takes runners through four 25-mile loops at Chain O'Lakes State Park, a glacially-shaped landscape of interconnected lakes and wetland trails in northern Indiana. Each loop winds through hardwood forests and along lakeshores, crossing bridges and navigating rolling terrain with modest elevation change. The race has earned a reputation for exceptional volunteer support and a welcoming atmosphere — it's a Western States and UTMB qualifier that punches above its geographic weight, drawing runners who want a well-organized 100-miler on forgiving terrain.
