A 28-kilometer loop through Boulder County's historic mining country, starting and finishing at the Gold Hill Inn. The course winds south to the town of Salina, west along Fourmile Canyon Drive to the ghost town of Sunset, then north along the historic Switzerland Trail narrow-gauge railway corridor back to Gold Hill. Dirt roads and forest trails through ponderosa pine and aspen create a scenic, moderately challenging route with sweeping Front Range views at around 8,500 ft elevation.
