Dramatic hinterland and coastal trails — the best of the Surf Coast Walk
Other trail races within 200 miles
The Surf Coast Century 50km covers the second half of the 100km course — the most dramatic legs — launching from Anglesea into the rugged hinterland of Heartbreak Hill and Distillery Creek Climb, then flowing through wildflower-lined singletrack past Currawong Falls and Ironbark Gorge. After the big checkpoint at Moggs Creek, the homeward leg rewards with a climb to the Ocean Views lookout, a run through the coastal hamlets of Moggs Creek and Aireys Inlet, the iconic Split Point Lighthouse, spectacular clifftop trails above the Southern Ocean, and a final sprint along Urquharts Beach back to the Anglesea finish. Two UTMB and ITRA points make this a meaningful ultra qualifier at an approachable distance.
