The Jura's 100-miler: 167.8 km and 8,355 m through Val-de-Travers
Other trail races within 77 miles
The 100-mile distance of the Swiss Canyon Trail returns in 2027 after a single 2025 edition. The 167.8 km route loops through the Val-de-Travers and the northern Vaud Jura, linking forest singletrack, open pastures, limestone ridges and gorges, with roughly 8,355 m of climbing. It tops out on Chasseron at 1,606 m and drops as low as Boudry at 471 m, near the mouth of the Gorges de l'Areuse. A Friday midday start and a 44-hour limit mean every runner covers at least one full night on course, with the rest of the Swiss Canyon Trail weekend finishing around them on Saturday.
