What Makes It Great

A scenic and demanding three-loop course on the slopes of Mt. Bachelor, delivering 6,800 feet of gain over 31 miles. Loop 1 climbs the volcanic east face to the 9,000-foot summit and descends the rocky West Ridge. Loop 2 circumnavigates the entire volcano on a mix of primitive doubletrack and rolling singletrack. Loop 3 finishes with a mid-mountain climb to Pine Marten Lodge and a smooth Evergreen Trail descent. Each loop returns to the West Village staging area, making crew access and spectating unusually convenient for an event of this caliber. Terrain ranges from smooth dirt singletrack to exposed and technical lava rock above treeline, with relentless Cascade views throughout.
