A point-to-point journey through the heart of Oregon's Cascade Mountains, connecting the vibrant trail running hub of Bend to the mountain town of Sisters. The course front-loads its challenge — nearly all of the 10,900 ft of climbing is packed into the first 100K as runners ascend toward Mount Bachelor on flowing singletrack, then transition to rugged terrain as the route descends into Sisters Country. Night running is virtually guaranteed, with most of the back half unfolding in darkness. The race is a Western States 100 qualifier and requires a trail work or volunteer service commitment to enter.

Car camping available at Sisters Middle School (finish line) parking lot on Friday and Saturday nights race weekend. No overnight camping at Pacific Crest Middle School (100M start).
Wildfire smoke is a significant hazard in late July. The 2025 race was halted mid-event due to AQI exceeding 200. Alpine Running has a formal air quality management policy and will cancel if AQI exceeds 200 pre-race or halt if it spikes mid-race.
Overnight temperatures in the Cascades can drop to the upper 20s–30s°F. Warm layers, gloves, and a hat are strongly recommended for the overnight sections.
Daytime highs reach the upper 70s–low 80s°F while nights dip near freezing — a 50°F+ swing over the course of the race.
