The complete crossing of the Belledonne massif from Vizille in Isère to Aiguebelle in Savoie — one of the most demanding alpine trail races in France. The 152 km route climbs 11,390 m and spends 40 km above 2,000 m, traversing 15 high mountain passes, crossing the Freydane glacier, and threading through four panoramic ridges. Runners discover over 30 mountain lakes and wild alpine terrain ranging from dense forest and moraines to snow-covered cols and exposed scrambles. The race runs in semi-autonomy through some of the most remote terrain in the French Alps — technically demanding throughout and requiring confident mountain navigation. A Hardrock 100 qualifying race since early editions, the Intégrale has been acclaimed since its 2013 debut as one of the most beautiful — and brutal — trails in the world.

Temperature swings of +30°C in valleys to +10°C or below on ridges can occur on the same day in August. The 2023 edition was partially cancelled due to violent storms mid-race.
