A rugged 100-mile loop through Colorado's Wet Mountains, traversing dramatically different ecosystems from mossy fir forests on the wet eastern slopes to arid piñon and cactus country on the west side. The course uses a mix of singletrack trails, forest roads, and 4WD roads, climbing to nearly 11,700 feet before descending into the Wet Mountain Valley with views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Spanish Peaks. Named after the 1860s outlaw Juan Mace, who used the valley's rugged terrain as his hideout.

Car camping allowed at Pueblo Mountain Park start/finish for $25. No campers, RVs, or tents. Must stay in the main area between the Horseshoe Lodge and the Pavilion.
