The Mingus Traverse 80 runs 79.8 miles from Watson Lake Park in Prescott through the Black Hills, over 7,800-foot Mingus Mountain, down through the historic mining town of Jerome, across the Verde Valley wine country, and into Sedona, finishing near the red rock formations at the Sedona Ranger Station area. The course follows the Prescott Circle Trail, passes through Dead Horse State Park, and delivers stunning transitions between distinct Arizona ecosystems.

Mingus Mountain summit at ~7,800 ft can be very cold and windy at night. Cold weather gear is mandatory for runners leaving Fain Ranch (mile 11.7) after 10am.
Verde Valley and Sedona sections can be hot in May afternoon sun.
