The Muir Woods Mountain Challenge 10K packs impressive mountain character into a compact distance. From Stinson Beach, runners tackle the steep Willow Camp hill climb before traversing the ridge-line Coastal Trail with views out over the Pacific Ocean. The descent via the technical Matt Davis Trail winds through lush coastal forest before returning to the beach — a fitting introduction to Mt. Tamalpais for first-timers and a fast challenge for veterans.
